Der Kreis – Kassel e.V. has been working systematically in the field of humanitarian aid for Ukraine for the second year.
- Our focus -
concrete actions that save lives: medical support, evacuation of the wounded and assistance to emergency services.
- TRANSPORT -
One of our key areas is the purchase and delivery of evacuation vehicles and ambulances operating directly in combat zones.
Why is this important?
These vehicles are critically important today: due to constant shelling and so-called double-strike tactics, they are frequently destroyed or damaged. This refers to repeated attacks on the same location within a short period — precisely when rescuers and medics arrive to assist victims. That is why evacuation and emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances, require continuous replacement. We allocate a significant share of our resources to this area to ensure that emergency services can act quickly and save lives. At the same time, we supply medical equipment, tools and consumables, and equip evacuation and intensive care vehicles with the necessary devices.
Result
So far, we have purchased and delivered 4 vehicles without the involvement of major donors — thanks to community support and fundraising during our cultural and social events. In addition, in cooperation with the municipalities of Liebenau, Calden and Hofgeismar, we delivered 3 fire trucks to support emergency services.
- 3D PRINT -
the production of plastic components for specialized equipment used by medical and rescue services in combat zones, using 3D printing. We purchase filament, and our volunteers manufacture necessary parts at home and send them to Ukraine for frontline use. In total, more than 3,708 kg of such components have already been produced.
- HELP FOR ANIMALS -
Support for an animal shelter in the city of Sumy, located in a combat zone. Together with our partners, we provide food, medical supplies and equipment, as well as enclosures and temporary shelters. The number of abandoned animals remains critically high and continues to increase every day. So far, more than 4,825 kg of animal feed has been delivered.
